When to add a second client
Adding a second client doubles the work and the messages. It helps to be sure the first plank holds before stepping onto the next.
Signs you're ready
- Your first jobs finish on time without late nights
- You know how long a typical job takes
- You've kept records for at least a month
- Your main job hasn't suffered
Signs to wait
- You're regularly working past your usual bedtime
- Deadlines slip, or you've missed a reply at work
- You're not sure what the first client pays you per hour
Add slowly
Start the second client with one small job, the same way you started the first.
